Sad Angel 04:54
And if I held a crystal ball in my hands and sailed on never ending seasons of sand as lionhearted knights await my command What would it take to make you see and understand? And if I saw your real thoughts with my eyes and felt your well intentioned truths or lost lies seeing as only blind men can - I can cry at all the hell locked in hello or fond goodbyes And if it seems the years have passed in my mind and silences replace the wave of sad eyes or creeping darkness makes a stand in sunlight yet for the moment it appears I’ll be allright...

Is there really time for all things? Summer someday falls For if there is such time for things I have no time at all In my daytime twilight world I float and bounce off walls But nighttime songs go on and on as angels softly call Is there really short term blindness ignorance and bliss? Or must we play a cardboard front for fools such as this? In my daytime twilight world I feign attentive light But nighttime songs go on and on and whisper what is right Is there really loneliness when I am by myself? Or is it more a shore leave placing shells upon a shelf? Is there really friendship when the walls are missing bricks? Are boundaries cracked and broken by a sadness such as this? In my daytime twilight world I sometimes drown at sea But nighttime songs go on and on created just for me Is there really?

In a thousand windows stand a thousand clocks Singing songs forgotten as an ancient lock Held the universal plan together strong Yet today I wonder, wonder what went wrong? Dreams chaotic fill the void As we move toward the paranoid Am I killing time as I redefine? In a thousand heartbeats wait a thousand deaths Will they all be painless at the final breath Is that old depression rising once again Many times I’ve killed it but I never win Are my songs my final friend Left to save me from a bitter end As my sight grows dim is the outlook grim? In a thousand mirrors laugh a thousand fools as their ships are sinking in life’s whirlpool They might drown forever without time to cry They might live and never care to question why If we all sail to the sun Can’t we join and go as one? In the final round must we stay earthbound?

Ride the earthly form inside Stay amidst your ever glowing patricide Run the rabbit course alone Winner of the race inscribes the resting stone Sand and Fire Test the wire Rest the choir Stake your last vampyre Seen as if a childhood dream Symbols reaching out resemble Halloween Cast the stone into the pond Break your fast impersonating Kubla Khan “We’ve seen the last of this race I bet” “I’ll not make my final wager yet” “The sun has crashed into the sky” “and sends its’ acid rays to purify”

I’ve been told of legendary sycophants and warlocks of the outer lands I’ve been sold a dusty crumbling compromise and truth I cannot visualize I’ve been cold taught a lesson based on fear looking for a mutineer I’ve been bold spotlight grabbing center stage then I seek to disengage spirit come from distant sand — Alice in her wonderland all alone and stranger than — any other courtesan fast and final sword in hand — lost amidst the hologram killing for the one who am — sainted sacrificial lamb

And as the lights spin round the table I can see it sinking fast Just one more artificial fable in a world of broken glass (I wander through your mirrored past) and say, “Hey, have you seen an empty dream and laughed?” The hot and swinging fought the stable But I knew it wouldn’t last The truce uneasy as the hate forever drained the simulcast (I watched you slowly walking past as if to say, “Hey, I will fight until the last” I took a break to lick my wounds and plan my method of attack How could I blame the loyal confidant Who snuck out through the back (I could not face the maniac) And say, “Hey, madness feels so empty, please come back”

The misty moon comes down and swirls with the surface of the underground I have been there And watching as the strings entangle with the living things I follow down as if I care About the dim uncertain shroud that seems to smile as it hangs around just over there…and everywhere A fence surrounds a place of lost and lonely dreamers and unfortunates with no escape No matter how they wish upon a star or bargain with the silhouettes they cannot stay So neither here nor there while arguing the merits of this solitaire They kneel and pray iust like yesterday A thinning patch of light is breaking through the cloudburst Sunday shining bright if I can see A way around the current nightmare of a strangers stare a random fight will not find me Within the haze a sunshine ray can make you sad but inadvertently you starve at sea... you starve for me!

Haunted 04:00
I once again rewind the dream to place your long forgotten scream And if you die before I wake I’m haunted by one more heartache To see my eyes you might expect a star—side night—light fatal wreck But looks can be deceiving things like blood the rose thorn sometime brings Imagine if the world saw your nighttime vision free for all A fantasy you can’t explain You sell your soul to entertain And what they see upon the screen or hear on radio in between Is deadened by the Novocain you’re sometimes sure you’ve gone insane Haunted eyes Haunted friends Will the haunting ever end? Haunted skies Haunted days Will it ever go away? “A natural”, proclaimed the fox a blue moon shadow paradox is waiting on your final word I see you see, but have you heard that what you say may last a day but dawn has broken anyway You’re worshipped by the local fools and taken down the whirlpool

To the Moon 06:18
As you walk into the mist blinded by the life you missed hate destroys the choice you made As you mourn for yesterday Floating on a spiral sea Takes you far away from me Unseen currents ebb and flow Captured by the undertow I can’t tell just where I’ll be Mansion hail or misplaced refugee Sliding down the mountainside slips me up & takes me for a ride I have walked 2 miles thru the daylight and the night for you Late arriving can you feel me crying through the rendezvous Time is shifting sand is sifting through my open hand it’s true Leave the bloodshot eyes your counterplot is plotting lies for you I can feel you near me soon Have you sent my letter to the moon? Midnight on the 1st of May We could be together anyway I’d accept an IOU If you’d grant me one last interview Sitting by your fireside leaves me lost and ever mystified I have walked into your dream converting themes to light for you Thankless effort spent but what I meant to say and meant to do missed the mark misplaced the bookmark miscellaneous I knew how to say goodbye to Monday stake my claim on Waterloo I can feel you near me soon Have you sent my letter to the moon? Midnight on the 1st of May We could be together anyway I’d accept an IOU If you’d grant me one last interview Sitting by your fireside leaves me lost and ever mystified

Mt Olympus 04:18
If I count the days that have slipped by Since you left your training for nearby Barcelona booked on the red eye I fly out to you in the night sky Sometimes I’m convinced she’s an android rather than a destitute negroid Photographs of us in the tabloids Show the world she takin’ the steroid Sport from 29 and 95 a day Cable TV mount Olympus you shall pay Dressed in colors red white & blue she Runs the fastest prison escapee Training on the streets of the city stealing cash she’d get away scot—free Now she’s mine including gold medal We’ll spend our lives together in the ghetto If I leave our place without my stiletto I’ll spend my life singing falsetto Life on 29 and 95 a day Famous for a moment only yesterday

Ghost Ship 06:43
It was late July at the cape of souls when the sea grew rough and the weather cold She first appeared as a strange red light then a ship aglow in the midst of night And the captain climbed on the deck to see what the crew described as the devils seed... Ghost ship on a windswept angry sea The Flying Dutchman plots a course to bury me and I say Specter with her company of dead She rides the four winds of eternity instead As the colour filled and the outline grew it appeared her course was to run us through At 200 yards we could see her crew dressed in tattered rags — legion of the doomed As her nameplate cleared through the ocean swirl we resigned our fate to the underworld... Ghost ship on a windswept angry sea The Flying Dutchman plots a course to bury me and I say Specter with her company of dead She rides the 4 winds of eternity instead Ghost ship of the lost and lonely sea Her captain frozen at the helm no longer mortal being I saw her as a sea bound funeral pyre Burning closer on her course of lost eternal fire “And with everyone sleeping I’m the only one watching As I guard o’er the midnight and I pray for the first light There upon the horizon She appears as a vision in a legend’ry sea curse there will be no survivors Of my crew I now question of my last obligation Should I wake and alarm them or show mercy and kill them?”

GOP 04:16
Trains & busses & jets & limos Pictures painted upon the wall If I haven’t been round much lately Leave a message — I will not call Ask the mailman for my letter (postage due won’t stop the flood) Hurricanes & earthquake weather Shape the party and stir the blood I’d tell you if you were innocent I’d tell you everything I’d smile at your ignorance I’d climb the G.O.P. If our party line seems too drastic Tough times call for leadership We are all a wee bit fascist Smiling from our gods pulpit Armageddon comes tomorrow televangelistic threat Send your money — If you must borrow we’ll add it to the national debt I’d tell you if you were innocent I’d tell you everything I’d smile at your ignorance I’d climb the G.O.P. We refuse to take the blame for car—jack plane crash politics Unemployment fans the flame ”Our countries burning” read my lips A thousand points of light could someone tell me what the hell that means Billionaires and right wing fascists crowning George our idiot king

And if it seems that sometimes we revere the predator ‘Come to the looking glass as I explain my weak link metaphor Amidst a tightening vice grip Adrift in an endless sea We look to our leaders to help us ...we trust them gradually I’ve added all the factors — I’ve found the common theme I can reduce this improper world to it’s LCD and if the average suffers and if the plan falls through and if the promise is broken chaos reigns and I will too! And through the years I’ve heard them complaining bitterly but still they offer the sacrificial lamb greedily alone with fire & brimstone atone to a killing god I watch as their mighty have fallen I laugh at their pantheon On to the reason I’ve come here describing policy as your society crumbles make my mark and hear me finally I offer lasting protection I offer all that’s good If you just cast down your weapons and follow me in brotherhood How many ways can I say this so you will understand that we all fight for the same cause at home and in a foreign land we must end all of the violence at others and ourselves that our religions provide as tools to reach their godly hell

about

Mutiny in Jonestown Washington

Influenced by classic 70's progressive rock bands like King Crimson, Van Der Graaf Generator & Genesis - along with late 60's psychedelia from The Beatles, Procol Harum & Pink Floyd (with a little 70's Black Sabbath thrown in for good measure), Mutiny in Jonestown has always sought to take these influences and synthesize them into something new.

The band has released 42 albums since 1987.
